Special guests Phil Woods and Lew Soloff provide several essential
components to The Sky Could Send You and give Sherri Roberts’ beautiful
voice an extra dimension. The charming Roberts lends her fluid, laid-back
cool essence to 12 tracks composed by such versatile talents as Roger
Kellaway, Rodgers and Hart, Henry Mancini, and Antonio Carlos Jobim. In
addition to those highly respected composers, Roberts offers her version of
Chet Baker’s vocalese on “Do It The Hard Way” and “Before”, which was
written by Harvie S and Roberts. Roberts’ interpretation in Portuguese of
Jobim’s “Por Toda Minha Vida” displays her international flair and ability
to phrase, convey and connect with her audience in other languages.
Accompanied by John Hart on guitar, David Udolf, Pablo Vergara, Harvie S,
Vince Cherico, Tim Collins, Daniel Sadownick, Renato Thoms, Skyler Jett, and
Daria, this recording elevates Sherri Roberts to another level within the
jazz vocalist galaxy of stars. Their improvisations, her evocative
expressions and poetic lyricism envelop the listener in a warm cocoon of
